Block 15030 comprises eight residential apartment buildings. The buildings are 5–8 storeys high, constructed in concrete, with façades partly clad in brick and partly rendered. Between and behind the buildings, there is a two-part above-ground parking structure. The block includes both rental and owner-occupied housing as well as commercial space
The angular geometry of the building volumes is intended to reference the varied forms of ore rock fragments (malmiboulders). The façades are designed to incorporate differently treated metal surfaces, reflecting the area’s industrial history related to metal processing.
The design follows the massing and façade principles defined in the zoning reference plan. The buildings feature façades of exposed brick and render, with the two lowest floors forming a distinct plinth emphasized through a material different from the upper parts. Commercial spaces are located at street level. Shared facilities are provided at street level, on the courtyard deck, and on the rooftop levels.
The residential buildings are positioned along the eastern, southern, and western edges of the plot, enclosing a sheltered and varied courtyard on the deck level. The landscape design focuses on the functional and natural placement of play and recreational areas, creating a high-quality green space that extends the adjacent natural hillside on the northern edge of the block.
The total number of apartments in the block is 412. The unit mix covers all apartment sizes, from studios to large family apartments, with variation also within each apartment category.
The southern edge of the block borders Riihitontuntie, the western side adjoins Tonttumaanpuisto, and the eastern side faces Vuoritontuntie. To the north, the block is adjacent to the buildings of Uusikumpu school and a forested hillside.
